Somehow Deshaun Watson Managed To Get Himself Into Even More Off-Field Trouble Over The Summer

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is just weeks away from making his return to the NFL after more than 1.5 years out of action. Watson, of course, was held out the entire 2021 season by the Houston Texans amid an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct.

The NFL then suspended Watson for six games following the completion of the investigation in the offseason.

That decision caused severe backlash and the league eventually appealed the decision of Judge Sue L. Robinson. Ultimately, the league and Watson settled on an 11-game suspension that will see him return in week 13. Ironically, that return is set to come against the Houston Texans.

Though yet another new lawsuit could change those plans. And as it turns out, that wasn’t the only trouble that Watson got into in the offseason.

Deshaun Watson Pulled Over For Doing 97 In A 70 MPH Zone In Ohio

TMZ reported on Thursday morning that Watson was pulled out by Ohio state police just months after he was traded from Cleveland to Houston.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says it caught the star quarterback speeding in his G-Wagon in Sandusky — less than three months after the Houston Texans dealt him to the Browns in a blockbuster trade.

Police body cam footage shows an officer pulled over the 27-year-old on June 11 … and asked him if he had any clue how fast he was going.
“Like, 97?” said Watson, who also told the cop he had just been traded to the Browns.
“Yeah,” the officer responded, “I got you at 97.”

Watson said during the stop that he had been traveling into town from Detroit … and the entire interaction with the cop was cordial. After a few minutes, the QB was issued a citation and allowed to leave. – via TMZ

Watson was fined just $185 dollars for the incident. Though the report did not say if or how it affected his license. The incident is just the latest in a long line of issues for the star QB.
