Although Deion Sanders left Jackson State for Colorado, he continues to put on for HBCUs. The 56-year-old Pro Football Hall of Famer and college football coach brings unprecedented drip to the job.
And in doing so, Coach Prime supports the culture.
Sanders, who played at Florida State, recently denied any affiliation to the Seminoles.
Most people may not know that he actually earned his degree from an HBCU— Talladega College in Alabama.
There is no denying that Coach Prime completely changed the HBCU landscape while coaching in Mississippi. However, there was some controversy surrounding his decision to leave an HBCU for the FBS at his first opportunity. If he was so “for the culture,” then why did he leave?
Sanders fired back at his critics and made it very clear that he made good on all of the things that he promised while coaching the Tigers. His departure also does not mean that he doesn’t continue to support HBCUs.
Take his clothing, for example.
No coach in college football history has ever dressed like Coach Prime. He brings the HEAT!

In doing so, Sanders has been supporting the Anthony Lawrence collection, a black-owned clothing brand that began with HBCUs.
I looked and I saw that HBCUs did not have just the different options of clothing, but they didn’t have the high-quality clothing that that the big brands were giving the big schools. So I did my research and then I just been working ever since, trying to give people something new, something different, something from everybody else.

Sanders has been rocking the Anthony Lawrence collection ever since!

Fox Big Noon Kickoff was in Boulder last weekend and brought their daily shows to campus. Sanders

Even though Coach Prime is no longer at an HBCU, he continues to support the culture! He always looks fresh, and has the Anthony Lawrence collection to thank.
