This weekend, the Vikings brought in McCarthy to participate in the team’s rookie minicamp.

After the practice, McCarthy said he felt pretty comfortable on the field directing the offense for the first time.

“It didn’t feel like my first day,” he said.

“I’ve been going over the offense for a long time now. So being able to [go] out there and perform and execute, that’s new, but it was nothing that was overwhelming or too much.”

Despite his optimism, he was caught on video throwing a terrible pass to a wide-open receiver.

Fans immediately mocked McCarthy over the terrible pass.
