Aaron Jones did not want to leave the Green Bay Packers. The organization that drafted him back in 2017 reportedly asked him to take a pay cut of more than 50% to remain with the team.
They did not reach an agreement.
As a result, the Packers released Jones after seven seasons. He turned right around and signed with the Vikings, a heated NFC North rival.
It was something of a middle finger to Green Bay, which gave him a middle finger by choosing to let him go.Jones firmly stated prior to his release that he wanted to finish out his contract with a team that means so much to him!
That ultimately did not happen.
As a result, the Packers are essentially dead to him. He made his new quarterback laugh by pretending not to know any of the players on his former team during his first press conference with his new team.
Aaron Jones is one of the funniest players in the NFL and Sam Darnold never saw the troll coming!
Let me find out Aaron Jones is a Twitter troll

“Honestly, I don’t even know who’s on that roster” is crazy lmao. pic.twitter.com/0rj88wREcE
If that did not make it clear where Jones’ allegiance lies moving forward, he signed off his press conference with a very definitive statement. A running back who played his entire career with Green Bay did the ‘SKOL’ clap for Minnesota.
This is not the first time that a player has moved from one team to the other. In fact, it happens more often than you might suspect, with guys like Brett Favre, Greg Jennings and Za’Darius Smith.
Jones is the latest name to join that list and he clearly wishes that things were different while embracing the team that was willing to pay him what he is worth. To pretend that his former teammates no longer exist is a hilarious way to show where things stand!
