Back in December of 2018, folks on the internet realized that the movie Blade Runner is set in the year 2019. Reactions to that news were as hilarious as one would expect and we somehow survived.
Now, however, people are starting to remember that the movie Pacific Rim about an apocalypitc war between humans and monstrous sea creatures takes place in the year 2020.
The reactions to this revelation are priceless in their lack of shock at the potential for a Kaiju and his horde of sea monster pals to emerge from an interdimensional portal on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean called “The Breach” at some point this year.
Should that actually happen, many people out there believe it wouldn’t even be the most shocking news they have heard this year.
(And yes, technically, a Kaiju emerged in the movie before 2020, but the fights against them specifically begin to take place in the year 2020.)
