Anonymous Pac-12 Coach Rips Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders For Taking Sacks

An anonymous Pac-12 assistant coach made some wild claims about Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

According to The Athletic, this coach believes Shedeur is intentionally taking sacks to keep his completion percentage higher instead of throwing the ball away.

Basically accusing Shedeur of stat-padding.

Here’s the full quote: “They really had some tells. I think they want to rack up some stats for Shedeur. He really holds on to the ball a long time. I think he takes sacks because he doesn’t want to affect his completion percentage. He’s playing a little different than he did earlier in the season. Before he showed that he was willing to step up and escape through the B-gaps. Now, he’s retreating more.”

Before we start drawing conclusions, let’s remember that Shedeur has been a tremendous player this season for Colorado.

Despite not having poor protection or lacking any sorts of running game, he totaled 17 total touchdowns with just 2 interceptions in 5 games and boasts a 74.8% completion rate.

Shedeur has been one of the best quarterbacks this season in college football despite what that anonymous assistant coach says.
