Rob Kardashian Hit The Jackpot With This Rare Tom Brady Card That Could Be Worth $250K

I’m sure you bros have heard by now but the trading card market is THRIVING these days. It’s actually been a hobby that’s been taking off long before March but this year has seen exponential interest in trading cards. Rapper Logic recently purchased a single Pokemon card for $226,000

Fellow Tampa Bay Lightning fan and former New York Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes has been a great follow on Twitter where he’s extremely active in the hobby, I highly suggest tossing him a follow if you’re interested in it.

One person I didn’t know what super into trading cards is Rob Kardashian. I actually make it a habit to avoid all Kardashian-related news as much as humanly possible but this rolled by my Twitter feed this morning as ‘Tom Brady News’ so I’ll allow it.

Apparently, Rob Kardashian had ‘the itch’ around 3am on Tuesday morning and needed some cards so he purchased ‘a case of 2020 Panini Mosaic Choice (hobby) cards’ from The Bullpen card shop in Los Angeles. These cases have 20 boxes and typically sell for somewhere in the realm of $10,000. What Rob pulled out of the deck is an extremely rare Tom Brady card which could be worth up to $250,000 (between $50,000 to $250,000 depending on condition). He also found a rare Justin Herbert card, Tua Tagovailoa autographed cards, and a valuable Joe Burrow card.

It’s perfectly reasonable to say that Rob Kardashian hit the jackpot with this haul. Turning a potential $10,000 purchase into a minimum of 5x immediately if not up to $300,000 when it’s all said and done. Here’s the Tom Brady card that’s worth somewhere between $50,000 and $250,000.

Here’s the story from TMZ Sports:

But, the big pull was a Tom Brady MVP Nebula parallel — an ultra-rare 1-of-1 card that’s worth a fortune!!! We spoke with some experts who told us the card could be worth anywhere from $50k to $250k depending on its condition (which will be graded by the PSA authentication company).

PSA looks for things like how perfectly the card is centered, the integrity of the corners and other possible flaws. But, since this card was pulled right from the box and immediately put into a case, it’s expected to get a perfect 10 grade — which is HUGE for collectors.

The other cards are also super valuable … we’re told the Herbert card (a Black Gold parallel that’s 1 of only 8) could be worth around $6,000. The Tua autographs could fetch $5k a piece (Rob pulled two!). And, the two Burrow fusion red rookie cards are also worth a few thousand each! (via TMZ)

The Bullpen card shop uploaded a long Instagram video if you want to watch the full unboxing:

If there’s any consolation prize for us normal people here it’s knowing that Rob Kardashian is probably the least wealthy of the Kardashian clan and his estimated net worth is only somewhere in the realm of $10 million which is barely a blip on the radar of his sister Kim’s $900 million fortune.

I’ve never been a huge card collector but I get it. One of my biggest sports memorabilia regrets is not asking for an autographed card back in 2009 when my then-roommate Mark Melancon got called up to the Yankees from Scranton and he showed up at the house with the Topps card guy. I was living in a townhouse in the UES with 5 other roommates and we had a guest room which Mark stayed in during his rookie season with the Yankees, he was childhood best friends with one of my roommates.

So he shows up with the Topps card rep who made him autograph like 2,000 cards and I sat there in the kitchen and watched him autograph with one hand while eating with the other hand and it went on for so long my hand hurt just watching him. Imagine signing 2,000 cards back-to-back. I can’t. My hand would fall off. And after all that I didn’t even ask the Topps guy for a card of my own. Mark then went on to get traded around the league, make the All-Star team 3x (2013, 2015, 2016) and was named the 2015 NL Reliever of the Year. I should’ve at least asked for an autograph in our kitchen that day…
