According to college football insider Pete Thamel, Michigan assistant coach Sherrone Moore is the frontrunner to replace Harbaugh.
Offensive coordinator and part-time 2023 interim Sherrone Moore is the favorite to replace Jim Harbaugh at Michigan. Other names: Lance Leipold, Chris Klieman and Dave Clawson. Matt Rhule and Luke Fickell have been considered amid past Harbaugh flirtations with the NFL.

Michigan Wolverines reporter Chris Balas confirmed Thamel’s report about Moore likely becoming Michigan’s next head coach.
Sources have said Michigan will likely promote offensive coordinator/line coach Sherrone Moore to head coach.
It is worth noting that Moore wasn’t immediately named the head coach after Harbaugh was hired by the Chargers.
It’ll be interesting to see if LSU head coach Brian Kelly’s name comes up, considering there were rumors that he may have been interested in the job a few months ago.
