A college football player has been suspended after being seen punching a security guard on the sidelines at a recent game. Videos of the incident have now circulated social media, leading to a major response from the sports world.
The altercation occurred after a matchup between Alabama State and Florida A&M.
Following the loss, Alabama State player Jacob Freeman was spotted arguing with the FAMU crowd.A security guard attempted to get in between the two parties and defuse the situation. Instead, they put themself in the line of fire.
As the security team member tried to direct the player back to the bench, the guard struck with a sucker punch.

Followers on social media were shocked by the situation. Many quickly posted their responses online.
“Not cool at all. He probably just ended his football career.”
“This kid not only will be suspended but could have charges against him.”

After seeing the unnecessary act surface, the school suspended the player indefinitely. ASU athletic director Jason Cable gave a statement on the situation this week.
“We are aware of the incident that occurred last night following our game against Florida A&M University in Tallahassee involving an Alabama State University football student-athlete.
“We do not condone the actions of the student-athlete, nor are the actions representative of the expectations set forth by the Athletic Department and our University.
“There is zero tolerance for this type of behavior. The student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from the football program, effective immediately.”
Freeman’s athletic department bio has been scrubbed from the Alabama State website.
