St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn is not a huge fan of the team’s new ‘City Connect’ jerseys unveiled earlier this week. The youngster gave an honest assessment of the getups during a locker room interview, and his response left a lot to be desired.
Winn isn’t the only one feeling negatively towards the uniforms, but he’s not necessarily the person you’d expect to bash his club’s jerseys so quickly after the reveal. He said the quiet part out loud!
Now, MLB uniforms have been a hot topic this season following a new-look design from Nike, which was produced by Fanatics. Players have run into all kinds of issues relating to the apparel, which include ripping, holding in sweat, and being completely see-through.
Both the look and feel of the uniforms have landed criticism.
But the “City Connect” jerseys have been around since 2021, and the Cardinals were the most recent team to release their ’24 look.

That reveal was met with hesitation as fans and media couldn’t quite decide if they approved of the design. Shortstop Masyn Winn made his thoughts clear when asked about the uniforms on Monday.
“Honest opinion? They’re ‘City Connects,’ that’s for sure,” the Cardinals infielder said of the jerseys.

Not exactly a stamp of approval!
Surprisingly, Winn’s not the only St. Louis player to voice his disapproval of the design. Teammate Willson Contreras sang a similar tune shortly after seeing the release.
“‘City Connect,’ I’m sorry but NOT GOOD.”
Huge swing and a miss this time around.
