The legend of Joey Chestnut continues to grow.
On Tuesday, a rain/lightning storm threated to ruin this year’s Nathan’s 4th of July hot dog eating contest.
Ok now a HUGE storm has hit Coney Island, minutes before the men’s hot dog eating contest was set to begin. Everyone is screaming and running for cover.

It was initially believed that the hot dog eating contest would be canceled due to the bad weather.

After nearly two hours of delay after the storm passed, a pumped up Chestnut reportedly told fans that he was going to gather all the eaters together and the show would go on.
