Just when you thought the Colin Kaepernick controversy was beginning to simmer down. Wrong! Photos of the San Francisco 49ers QB wearing socks during 49ers’ practice that depict police officers as pigs have emerged.
It appears that photojournalist Robb Ware was the first one to notice disparaging socks, and says that Kaepernick has been wearing them since August 10.

A closer look shows a portly pig wearing a police hat.

The offensive anti-police pigs socks coincide with Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for the national anthem because he is protesting police brutality.
From Wikipedia:
This derogatory term was frequently used during the 19th century, disappeared for a while, but reappeared during the 20th and 21st century. It became frequently used again during the 1960s and 1970s in the underground and anti-establishment culture. Now prevalent in many English-speaking countries. It is also used in anti-authoritarian punk and hip-hop circles.
More recently, there is at least one instance of protestors calling for the death of cops in response to police shootings by chanting “Pigs In A Blanket Fry’em Like Bacon!”
Labeling ALL police officers as racist killing machines is incredibly narrow-minded. It negates the overwhelming majority of all of the righteous and hardworking police officers that are dedicated to making their community a better place. It does not create a healthy dialogue or solutions for real issues in the world, but rather incites more divisiveness.
I imagine the NFL would consider this a violation of the extremely stringent uniform policy.
