The Tennessee Titans have secured a valuable addition to their defensive lineup by signing former Chicago Bears pass-rusher Trevis Gipson, as confirmed by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Gipson, originally a fifth-round draft pick in 2020 by the Bears,  recorded 10 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 11 tackles for loss, 18 quarterbacks hits, and 5 passes defended over the past two seasons

The news of Gipson’s signing was subtly hinted at by the player himself, as he took to the popular social media platform X on Thursday morning, stating, “Titan up let’s go!

!”

The 26-year-old defensive end’s best season came in 2021 while outside linebacker in the team’s 3-4 defensive scheme. That season, Gipson notched seven sacks and forced five fumbles.

His performance slipped however last season when the Bears transitioned to a 4-3 front under first-year coach Matt Eberflus. In his new role as a defensive end, Gipson managed only three sacks.

With the signing, the Titans are looking to bolster their defense and tap into Trevis Gipson’s potential as they aim for a successful upcoming season.
