The Miami Dolphins have strengthen their defensive depth with the signing of former Denver Broncos standout linebacker, Alexander Johnson, the team officially announced the deal.
Johnson, was outstanding with the Broncos in the 2020 season, starting 16 games and making a significant impact on the field.
Johnson’s stats from that season include 124 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 5 QB hits, a sack, and 2 forced fumbles.
Notably, Pro Football Focus lauded Johnson’s exceptional ability as a run-stopping linebacker, ranking him as the top in this category. He also secured the 22nd spot among all off-the-ball linebackers in their rankings.
Johnson has dealt with injuries over the past two seasons but Miami is taking a chance he’ll return to form.
In tandem with Johnson’s signing, the Dolphins waived linebacker Mike Rose. Additionally, safety Myles Dorn has been waived/injured.
