Welcome to Week 8 in the NFL. This week we’re featuring two divisional matchups where the first-place teams are looking to extend their lead in the division, and other teams that are looking for wins to stay in the playoff race. Here are the best bets for Week 8.
Record this season: 14-11-1
Sunday 8:20 P. M.
Two and half months ago if you told me the Eagles would be a nine-point favorite, I would have asked for some lottery numbers. The trajectory of these two teams has drastically changed. The Cowboys offense was able to make up for the horrendous defense, but in the two games without Dak Prescott they’ve scored a total of 13 points. The Eagles are starting to get healthy as they’ll have Jalen Reagor back this week while Dallas Goedert and Alshon Jeffery could return soon. I see the Eagles winning very comfortably this weekend.
Sunday 4:25 P.M. EST
The Bears have shown their inability to put up points as they’re 28th in points scored this season, but the defense has helped with the seventh-fewest. A narrative in this game will be the weather as we’ll see a high of 38 degrees and over 20 mph winds. We know the track record of Drew Brees in cold weather and the Saints are a good defense, this game won’t see much offense.
Sunday 1:00 P.M. EST
The Browns are sitting at five wins, but four of those were against the Bengals twice, Washington, and Dallas who are a combined 5-15-1. The Raiders have shown that they can put up points and recently beat the Chiefs. Both defenses are not that good, but I’m more confident in Derek Carr against this Browns defense coming out with a win.
Sunday 1:00 P.M. EST
Way back in Week 1, the total for this game was 46, they just squeezed by that number with 77. The Packers may not have their star running back Aaron Jones for a second week, but it didn’t stop them as they put up 35 points on Houston last week. The Vikings will get their star runner as Dalvin Cook will return. Both of these defenses are nothing special, look for a very close total to their last matchup.
