The writers of Call of Duty Modern Warfare saw into the future.
On Friday night, a potential civil war broke out in Russia as Wagner PMC chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has vowed to march into Moscow with his troops to forcibly remove Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

Yevgeny Prigozhin called for an armed rebellion on Friday to remove Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu from power.
The push follows the Wagner chief’s accusations that the Russian military attacked his group’s campsite and killed many of his fighters.Prigozhin claimed on Saturday local time that Wagner forces left Ukraine where they had been fighting and went into Russian territory, reaching the town of Rostov. He vowed in a series of social media posts on Friday that his soldiers would “destroy anyone who stands in our way.”
On social media, video game fans recalled how the current situation in Russia is similar to the plotline of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Gaz: “Good news first: the world’s in great shape. We’ve got a civil war in Russia, government loyalists against Ultranationalist rebels, and 15000 nukes at stake.”
Price: “Just another day at the office.”
