Kansas City Chiefs fans are excited about their speedy new wide receiver, Xavier Worthy catching passes down the field from Patrick Mahomes. Right now, Xavier Worthy might not be too fond of Kansas City, though.
The first-rounder out of Texas had his car stolen overnight in a poor showing of hospitality by the thief.
According to Fox 4, Worthy’s car was stolen out of the parking garage at Two Lights Apartments in Kansas City sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. And, before you ask if this is a case of someone unable to find their car in a parking garage, which does happen, his car was actually missing.
It hasn’t been reported yet what kind of car it was, but given the fact that Xavier Worthy was a star at Texas and is now a first-round draft pick, I’m guessing it was a pretty expensive car!
Thankfully, I think things will get better in Kansas City soon for Xavier Worthy. He and that offense seems like a perfect match.
Worthy ran an NFL Combine record 4.21 40-yard dash back in March. That’s even faster than former Kansas City Chiefs speedster Tyreek Hill, who ran a 4.29. Hill was the third-fastest player in the NFL last season while putting up monster numbers for the Miami Dolphins.
I’m sure the role that Head Coach Andy Reid has in mind for Worthy is pretty similar to many of the things that Tyreek Hill did for Kansas City early in his career there. With Travis Kelce, Hollywood Brown, and Rashee Rice (legal issues pending) doing work in the short and intermediate passing game, Xavier Worthy is going to make teams think twice about only keeping one high safety. Plus, that’s going to open up the run game a little more for Isaiah Pacheco and the rest of the running backs.
But, if people keep stealing his car, he might not want to play very hard for the city of Kansas City!
