Air travel isn’t exactly the wondrous experience that it may have been years ago. Shrinking leg room, drunk and unruly passengers, and the possibility of being dragged out of the plane against your will for a minor infraction have all eroded the joy of flight. But at least there was never bed bugs on flights.
Just when you thought flying could get worse, it gets worse. There are now bed bugs on commercial airplanes.Multiple passengers complained that they were bitten by bed bugs on an airplane that took off from New Jersey. Air India Flight #144 left from Newark Liberty International Airport to Mumbai, India. During the 17-hour flight, several passengers were bitten by bed bugs. One baby was covered in bites and was bleeding by the time the plane landed in India. This is a cruel, cruel existence.
The passengers who complained about the infestation of bed bug were sitting in business class. Earlier in the week, other passengers reported being devoured by the nasty parasites, but Air India did nothing to prevent future attacks. Those bed bugs must have some pretty good frequent flier miles by now.

“We alerted the crew who sprayed a repellent,” passenger Kashmira Tonsekar said. “After a while, more bugs started coming out from that and other seats.” If 17 hours on a cramped plane wasn’t maddening enough, these poor people were eaten alive by bed bugs. This might be the worst kind of torture. The one family affected now has to take medicine for 10 days on what was supposed to be their fun vacation. I wouldn’t wish flying in an airplane with bed bugs on my worst enemies.
