Over the past few years, Andy Reid has not only cemented himself as one of the best head coaches in the NFL but one of the most entertaining and relatable figures the league has to offer.
Terry Bradshaw may have caught some heat for telling the man who helms the Chiefs to “waddle” over to receive the Lombardi Trophy after Kansas City topped the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, but it’s hard to imagine Reid was too offended based on his tendency to poke fun at himself and the physique that’s inextricably linked to his well-documented love of food.
Reid’s love of red meat is arguably only rivaled by his undying affinity for Tommy Bahama, as the coach has routinely given himself some incentive to win big games with the celebratory meals he tends to scarf down after him.
When the Chiefs punched their ticket to the Super Bowl in 2020, Reid capped off the AFC Championship with a burger before outdoing himself by setting his sights on “the biggest cheeseburger you’ve ever seen” after the team walked away with the win in The Big Game.
As a result, it wasn’t too much of a stretch to assume he’d be doing something similar following the victory on Sunday, but he apparently decided to pivot a bit.
On Tuesday, Reid chatted with reporters about the meal he treated himself to after arriving back in Kansas City. The coach said he stopped at a local pizzeria where he ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza in addition to the salad he got to feel a little bit better about himself.
Andy Reid was asked today about how he celebrated the Super Bowl win once he returned to Kansas City: “Yeah, I went to Pizza 51. I got a mushroom and sausage pizza, how about that? And a salad just to make my chubbiness feel good.”

I have to say I am very surprised that the meal in question didn’t feature red meat in some shape or form, but who am I to tell the man who’s won two Super Bowls in the past three years how to celebrate?
