Ohio State Football Stands By Embarrassing Climate-Based Blunder Upon Arrival To Dallas, Which Isn’t ‘Dessert’

Ohio State University is set to face the University of Missouri in a college football postseason matchup at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023. The Buckeyes social media team may have forgotten the logistics of their upcoming game.

They made an embarrassing mistake upon arrival to the Lone Star State earlier this week.

Ohio State is not familiar with Dallas!

Dallas, located in the north-central part of Texas, was founded in 1841. It boasts a total population of about 1.5 million people.

Located just within the southern reaches of the Great Plains, Dallas largely consists of rolling hills from 500 to 800 feet in elevation within prairie and oak woodlands. However, most of its natural landscape has been urbanized or overtaken by agriculture.

According to the National Weather Service, “the climate of Dallas is humid subtropical.” Precipitation totals hover anywhere from less than 20 inches of rain to more than 50.

All of this goes to say that Dallas, Texas is not the desert. Ohio State got confused.

Ohio State’s social media team shared the Cotton Bowl’s post at 8:49pm. It included a brutal typo that suggested the game was to be played in the sweet food-based course to conclude a meal.

That, of course, doesn’t make any sense. The post included an extra S.

The typo was corrected with an edit at 9:14pm. It proudly stated that the Buckeyes had boots on the ground in a barren area of landscape where little precipitation occurs.

Ohio State is sorely mistaken. Dallas is not a desert.

The initial post and secondary edit was pretty embarrassing, but the edits weren’t done!

They proceeded to make a third edit within seconds of the second and changed ‘desert’ to ‘Desert’ with a capital D as if it is a proper noun.

To reiterate for any Buckeyes reading this article who are still confused as to why their team’s post is so bad: Dallas, Texas is not of desert climate, nor is it considered to be the Desert.
