The Green Bay Packers are currently in the midst of a pretty big transition.
After 15 years with Aaron Rodgers under center, the franchise is getting a fresh start at quarterback this offseason.
They’ve been planning to turn things over to Jordan Love at some point since they drafted him back in 2020.
He’ll finally get his shot to be the team’s starting QB this year after sitting on the bench for the past 3 years.
While Love will be the one leading the team during the coming season, the Packers have also brought in some other interesting names as reinforcements at the position.
They drafted former Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford in Round 5 back in April.
Now it looks like they’ll be adding another notable name at the position.
According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Packers intend to sign USFL MVP Alex McGough.

Back in 2018, Alex McGough was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the 7th round. He spent his rookie year on their practice squad before bouncing around the league a bit.
He made stops in Jacksonville and Houston before returning to Seattle at the end of the 2020 season. That was his last stop in the NFL.
The fact that he never took a snap in an NFL game didn’t make him any less attractive to the USFL. The Birmingham Stallions selected him with the 6th overall pick in 2022.
In his first season, he helped the Stallions win a title, but he was much more impressive in year 2.
He threw for 2105 yards and 20 touchdowns in 10 games on his way to winning the USFL MVP.
Now he has a chance to follow that up by earning a roster spot for a Green Bay Packers team that has some major questions to answer at quarterback during the 2023 season.
