Alabama Is Set To Shock One Big Ten Team With Massive Five Star Flip Before Signing Day

It’s no secret that Alabama is a powerhouse under Nick Saban. The coach, who celebrated his 51st wedding anniversary on Sunday, has won six national titles for the Crimson Tide since taking over in 2007.

And, a big part of that dynasty is recruiting. Since 2008, Alabama’s worst recruiting class according to 247sports was ranked fourth.

That means, including this year, they will have fifteen consecutive top-five classes.

They don’t just recruit the south, either. Some of the star players from over the years from Alabama have come from all over the country. Tua Tagovailoa was from Hawaii, Minkah Fitzpatrick was from New Jersey, and Najee Harris was from Southern California, just to name a few. After all, it’s not hard to see the appeal of playing there when you win as much as those guys do. They put so many guys in the NFL too, and at all positions. Plus, Tuscaloosa is a fun town and Alabama football players are worshiped in T-Town.

All of those positives must have worn off on one of this year’s top recruits, as he is set to flip to the tide.

Five-Star Offensive Tackle Kadyn Proctor is rumored to be flipping to Alabama

Des Moines, Iowa prospect Kadyn Proctor is one of the biggest freaks in this class. The 6-7 330lb offensive tackle moves like a ballerina and has that classic Midwestern toughness. He compares favorably to former Iowa Hawkeye and current NFL star Tristan Wirfs.

And, he committed to the home-state Hawkeyes on June 30th in the summer of 2022. It made sense, as Iowa puts out a ton of good lineman, and they had just come off a season that saw them play for another Big Ten title.

But, things have started to heat up in his recruitment since the season ended. The Hawkeye offense was dreadful this year, ranking 130th out of 131. And, every top program would love someone like Proctor.

The offensive tackle visited Alabama this weekend and the news for Hawkeye fans isn’t good.

Eickholtz and Bock are Iowa beat writers for 247sports. And, later on, 247sports national recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong also flipped his crystal ball to Alabama.

This is a big blow for the Hawkeyes. Proctor is the 12th-rated recruit in the country. Iowa’s next-highest commit is 419th.

As for the Tide, this only bolsters their top-ranked recruiting class. The rich get richer.
