Las Vegas Aces Moving Game To Bigger Arena In Anticipation Of Caitlin Clark Coming To Town

The Las Vegas Aces are the best women’s basketball team in the world.  The two-time defending WNBA champions have a loaded roster and have big-time fan support in the Sin City.

They play in a great arena, the Michelob Ultra arena in suburban Las Vegas, that seats 12,000. But, that arena is not going to be big enough to keep up with the ticket demand when Iowa Hawkeyes superstar and presumptive first-overall pick to the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark, comes to town.

According to

, the Las Vegas Aces are moving their July 2nd game against the Indiana Fever from Michelob Ultra Arena to the downtown T-Mobile Arena. T-Mobile Arena seats a whopping 20,000 fans, which will allow for thousands more people to see Caitlin Clark play.

I’m sure they will sell it out, too.  The Aces averaged over 9,000 fans on their own last year and sold out their season tickets this year.

When you’ve got a roster that includes arguably the best player in the world in A’Ja Wilson, plus other stars like Candace Parker, Jackie Young, Kelsey Plum, and Chelsea Gray, people are going to show up. Add in head coach Becky Hammon, who was a serious contender for multiple NBA head coaching jobs as an assistant for Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs, and it’s a must-see team.

Must-see is an accurate way to describe Caitlin Clark, as well. The Hawkeye guard is set to play in the Final Four Friday night against UConn. It may be the most-anticipated women’s basketball game ever, as Clark will match up against her fellow top-two player in the country in Paige Bueckers.

Caitlin Clark is just two wins away from capping off an incredible career with a national championship. She’s already the all-time leading scorer in NCAA basketball, men’s or women’s. That accomplishment sells her short in terms of how much fun she is to watch. She can shoot from anywhere, and also leads the nation in assists. She’s a cross between Pete Maravich and Steph Curry, and is likely the most gifted offensive player the women’s game has ever seen.

It’s not hard to see why fans are going to flock to see Caitlin Clark all across the country in the upcoming WNBA season this summer. Las Vegas will be no exception.
