Apparently New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is on his way to getting some major love from one of his sponsors, Nike. At least if the fact that they just filed to trademark a new OBJ logo is any indication.
A move such as this certainly makes sense from the standpoint that before the beginning of the 2017 NFL season, Nike renewed their deal with Beckham to the tune of around $5 million per year for five more years, the highest-paying shoe deal in NFL history.
That being said, much like when the San Diego, err, Los Angeles Chargers first created their new logo, OBJ’s Nike emblem is getting absolutely roasted by NFL fans on the internet.
Here’s what the logo that Nike filed to trademark looks like…

Yeah… it’s, well, it’s not great. Hard to believe with all the ridiculously talented graphic designers out there that this was the best Nike could do.
Of course, the internet being the internet, the keyboard warriors were quick to do their thing. That thing being crack jokes, make memes and otherwise make fun of the logo, Nike and Odell Beckham Jr. for this weak effort.
