John Mayer, one of the most talented modern troubadours in the world, has long since had one of the best high-end watch collections of any man alive.
The Dead & Co. strummer has now reach the apex of the horological world as he’s partnered with Audemars Piguet, one of the finest Swiss watchmakers of all time, for his own John Mayer-designed Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar limited edition that is equipped with AP’s self-winding Calibre 5134 movement.
John Mayer announced his Audemars Piguet partnership on Thursday and AP immediately had images and information up on their website about the ‘Stellar’ Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar limited edition watch. The ‘Crystal Sky’ faceted dial is a work of art that will catch sunlight unlike anything we’ve ever seen from Audemars Piguet until now.
For this watch, Mayer chose to use 18-carat white gold to meld the aesthetics of the Royal Oak with AP’s perpetual calendar complication. The end result is stunning.

As if this John Mayer x Aduemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar limited edition won’t be rare and sought after enough, AP threw in a wild card. This is the last limited edition AP watch that will feature the iconic Calibre 5134 movement.
Capping it off, this limited edition John Mayer Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar watch has a hefty price tag. According to Hodinkee, only 200 pieces will be made and each will sell for $180,700.
In order to purchase one, a buyer will almost certainly need to have an established history with Audemars Piguet or theyw ill be forced to seek the watch on the secondary market where it will surely break records.
