Taylor Swift Faces Hectic Schedule Before Super Bowl LVIII

The Kansas City Chiefs, and by extension, Taylor Swift, due to her relationship with star tight end Travis Kelce, have advanced to the Super Bowl after a dramatic 17-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens on the road on Sunday.

Whether you like it or not, Swift, who was recently named Time Person of the Year , is one of the few needle-movers left in our fragmented society.

That means the coverage surrounding the pair will be pretty intense the next few weeks (yes, I am aware I am adding to that intense coverage).

While many people anxious for Super Bowl LVIII, which will see the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers, have only that circled on their calendar in the doldrums of deep winter, that’s not the case for the biggest pop star in the world. Not in the slightest, in fact.

Next weekend is The Grammy’s, the most prestigious awards in all of music. Taylor Swift, who has dominated music the last-year plus unlike anyone in decades, is looking to have a big night. She’s nominated for six awards, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album. If she wins Album of the Year for her smash-hit Midnights, she will break a tie with Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder (3) for the most all-time wins in the most prestigious category.

Ok, that’s a pretty big event. But, her work is not done, as she will immediately head to Tokyo, Japan to start the Asian Leg of her smash-hit, record-breakingEras Tour at the Tokyo Dome. She will play four sold-out shows, with the cheapest tickets being $350. That’s still a pretty penny, but not quite the prices of her American stops on the secondary market, where the get-in price was typically at least $1000.

Those shows are scheduled for Wednesday-Saturday in Tokyo the week of the Super Bowl, which is February 11. Thankfully for Taylor Swift, Tokyo is 12 hours ahead of Las Vegas in terms of time zones. That means, she will have plenty of time to get back from Tokyo and be in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII.

Will she attend? Almost certainly. I would be beyond stunned if she wasn’t there as Travis Kelce looks for his third Super Bowl win.
