Tyler Lockett is a man of many talents.
The pass catching threat has developed into a star NFL wide receiver with the Seattle Seahawks, landing All-Pro honors in three different seasons.
Lockett has tallied three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, culminating with a career-high 1,175 yards in 2021.While football continues to be the focal point of his professional life, he’s also pursuing his options outside of sports.
We’ve seen many athletes do this while still playing. Look at Draymond Green, who’s become a member of the media with his popular basketball podcast. Russell Westbrook owns a clothing line, which he displayed at this year’s Met Gala. Others have gone into music, film, and journalism while still being on active rosters.
Lockett, though, is taking a different route.
He earned his real estate license over the offseason and, earlier this week, closed on his first home sale as an agent. When he’s not on the gridiron, Lockett is brokering deals on houses in the Washington area, some of which are priced in at seven figures.
While many applauded Lockett’s side hustle, there are always those that will be negative. The wide receiver has had enough with the trolls, though, and he’s letting it be known.
Tyler Lockett shuts down haters on social media
I’m not the one to just be responding to negativity a lot on social media but Its just crazy to me how some people think. Like some people feel some type of way for me chasing my dreams. Like I’m more than just a football player with money.

Lockett goes in on the trolls that for some reason believe they should have a say in what he chooses to do outside of football.
“It’s crazy to me how some people think. Like some people feel some type of way for me chasing my dreams. Like I’m more than just a football player with money.”
And as we’ve seen time and time again, football can be taken away from you in an instance. Why people feel the need to put him down for pursuing something outside of sports is mind-blowing.
Usually, we hear the same old tired line of “Well, they should’ve had a backup plan” when an athlete isn’t prepared for life beyond the field. Now, we’re criticizing someone who’s betting himself in other avenues?
Luckily, many have come out in support of the wideout.
Followers respond to Tyler Lockett’s message
Trolls gonna troll. I like to watch people celebrate wins & milestones on & off the field. There's so much hard work involved in achievement. If you don't mark life's victories you burn out. Those who tear down don't understand the work and joy in building.

At the end of the day- those people are selfish and forget that you’re still a human being. On top of being an incredible player, you have goals of your own. To them, as long as you’re chasing those too- you can’t attain their goals for them. Keep being you, Tyler! You rock
