Holly Holm has reacted to Ronda Rousey’s recent comments about their fight.
In recent interviews, Rousey has claimed that she had a concussion going into the fight after slipping down a flight of stairs while tearing her ACL. The former UFC champ even blamed her mouthpiece causing her teeth to break early in the fight vs.
Holm.“The first time I got touched in that fight, it knocked all my bottom teeth loose and I was completely out on my feet the entire fight,” Rousey told CageSide Seats. “I couldn’t see how far away she was from me, if that makes sense. And [I was] not seeing things as quickly. Usually when I fight, time dilates and I see everything in slow motion. This was like I was in like a fog where I couldn’t tell a range or anything.”
Holm, who is fighting Kayla Harrison at UFC 300, was asked about Rousey’s comments.
The veteran MMA fighter believes Rousey is having a tough time dealing with her MMA losses.
“I was the better fighter that night, and every fighter at this point, if you have made a career of fighting, you’ve had a concussion at some point.” “You go back and look at some of my boxing fights and some of the things that I’ve done, I’ve definitely had some concussions, I’ll never sit here and use that as an excuse for any loss. Holm is set to fight Rousey’s former judo teammate in Harrison and is coming in as a huge underdog, just as she did against Rousey.
