The Pacers and the Cavaliers. One team is struggling to get into the play-in while the other does not need to worry about that part of the post-season. I may not be that good at math, but even I can see that the Pacers are pretty good with Tyrese, and absolutely awful without him. And when your team is that limited in its offense, there isn’t a whole lot of noise you can make. Give me the Cavs all day every day. The Pacers have lost four of their last five games, and I’m not sure going against a red-hot Donovan Mitchell is gonna help them out. Their season has been more turbulent than my stomach after a night of five-dollar boneless wings at Applebees. But I should probably say something positive about this definition of mid-team. One bright spot for Indiana has been its acquisition of Tyrese Haliburton. He has been cooking for the Pacers this season. He’s averaging 20 points per game and over 10 assists per game. There was a stretch of games where this guy basically forgot how to turn the ball over and could not stop racking up assists. I would also like to shout out Indiana’s big man Myles Turner, not only for winning me fantasy games but also for being quite a solid presence down low for Indiana.
He’s been grabbing 7.5 boards per game and scoring 18 points per game. As a great man once said, “board man gets paid.”
The Cavaliers, however, have two Myles Turners and two Tyrese Haliburtons. As the McCourty twins showed us Patriots fans in 2018, two are definitely better than one. Spider Mitchell has been dropping over 27 points per game, and making it look easy. He does not discriminate when it comes to adding to his highlight reel whether you’re on a great team or if you’re on Indiana. The second Tyrese Haliburton this team has is Darius Garland, who has been averaging 7.8 assists per game to go along with his 21.7 points per game. These two together are like fire and then hotter fire. An inferno, if you will. It also never hurts that they have their two towers down low, grabbing the few misses they accumulate, both averaging over 9 rebounds per game.  The Cavaliers are so much better than the Pacers. It’s not even close. Bet on the Cavs and get up to $1,111 in bonus bets! *****
