Aaron Rodgers is beginning to ramp up his offseason workouts with the New York Jets as the future Hall of Fame quarterback looks to recover from last season’s Achilles injury.
It’s now been over nine months since Aaron Rodgers blew out his Achilles just four plays into his Jets career, meaning Jets fans are understandably quite eager to see how Rodgers’ progress is coming along.
A video from May 29, however, seems to have made Jets fans more concerned than excited.
The video shows Rodgers sitting on a cart and getting treatment on his feet before returning to practice soon after that. It’s the end of the clip, though, that seems to be concerning Jets fans due to the awkward nature of his running stride, or his “gait.”

When someone in the replies said “the ankle he’s looking at isn’t even the one he hurt last year,” the original poster said that it’s not about his ankle but his gait: “I’m looking at his gait. Guy’s ginger AF.”
“Might not make it 4 plays this year,” said one reply to the video.
“Moving like he’s 60 [years old],” said another.
Now, given that Rodgers is 40 years old and working his way back from an Achilles injury, the fact that his gait is a little out of whack shouldn’t come as a surprise.
But the flip side of that coin is what’s likely concerning Jets fans — of which I am one — as there’s the possibility that this just *is* who Aaron Rodgers will be now. Coming back from an Achilles tear is no small feat, let alone when you were born in the year 1983.
The fact is that until Rodgers is seen in live-game action, there is truly no telling whether he’ll be able to return to his four-time MVP levels or if his injury has put him on the fast track to retirement.
Rodgers and the Jets will kick off their 2024 season with a Monday Night Football matchup on the road against the San Francisco 49ers, the current betting favorites to win the Super Bowl. That’s one of six primetime games Gang Green has in the first 11 weeks of the 2024 NFL season.
