Joe Buck Reveals He Wears Lifts To Look Taller Next To Troy Aikman, Fans Surprised To Learn He’s 6′ 1″

Joe Buck revealed an embarrassing detail about himself after Monday night’s NFL game. Following the Chiefs’ exciting 30-29 win over the division rival Raiders, Buck said he wears lifts in order to look taller when standing next to Troy Aikman in the booth.

The commentator was talking about an egregious roughing the passer penalty that was called on Kansas City earlier in the game.

Many disagreed with the call, including former VP of Officiating Mike Pereira, which caused a strip sack by defensive lineman Chris Jones to be overturned.

When referencing the play, Buck noted that NFL quarterbacks are big, strong players. While they may appear smaller when lined up next to a linebacker or defensive end, they can still be difficult to bring to the ground.

He immediately pointed to his co-host, Aikman, who was a former NFL QB and stands 6-foot-4.

This fan referenced an episode of Seinfeld, saying, “Someone should warn Joe Buck about the consequences of using lifts or ‘Heightening’. Regards, Mickey Abbott.” It always comes back to Seinfeld.

A number of folks were also surprised to learn that Buck was 6-foot-1. He definitely looks much shorter when lined up next to Aikman in the booth.

Obviously, the league is trying to protect its most prized players at the quarterback position, but there has to be a change to the rule after what we’ve seen take place this weekend.
