Ricky Gervais Has The Best Take On All These Celebrities Whining About Being Isolated In Mansions

On Monday, Justin Timberlake was getting dragged by moms and dads for complaining that “24-hour parenting is just not human” joining other celebrities like Ellen Degeneres, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Flay, Pharrell, and Vanessa Hudgens on the general public’s self-isolation shit list.

I don’t know about you, but taking care of a five-year-old with Jessica Biel in a mansion in Montana while having tens of millions of dollars in the bank sounds like a goddamn fantasy to me, but yeah, JT’s got it rough.

However, if you disagree with that sentiment then, well, you’re not alone and Ricky Gervais has your back because he too thinks it is ludicrous for people like Justin Timberlake and Ellen Degeneres to be whining about being in self-isolation while most of the rest of the world is just trying to get by.

In a recent interview with The Sun, Gervais said, “After this is over I never want to hear people moaning about the welfare state again, I never want to hear people moaning about nurses again. Or porters.”

“These people are doing 14-hour shifts and not complaining. Wearing masks, and being left with sores, after risking their own health and their families’ health selflessly. But then I see someone complaining about being in a mansion with a swimming pool. And, you know, honestly, I just don’t want to hear it.”

As for how he’s been handling self-isolation, “I didn’t go out much anyway, and there’s always too much booze in the house. It’s always been the 6 p.m. watershed for as long as I remember. Obviously, I am looking at the watch.”

That’s right. Save your tears for people who really need them, Sam Smith.
