Wherever Caitlin Clark goes, fans follow. Iowa’s superstar sharpshooter continues to sellout arenas both at home and on the road, regardless of the opponent. Everybody wants to catch a glimpse of the greatest shooter in women’s college basketball history and watch her go down.
That is especially true when the Big Ten Tournament rolls into Minneapolis next month!
Although Clark and the Hawkeyes are not the only catalyst for interest in the conference tournament, with Ohio State ranked at No. 2 and Indiana ranked at No. 14, she certainly plays a big role. Every person in attendance will want their team to win, obviously, but that desire is heightened against the future first overall pick in the WNBA Draft. They want to see her lose and, in some ways, she is a villain!
As a result, this year’s women’s event will be the first-ever full sell-out. Fewer than 1,500 tickets remain across all seven sessions and most of them are for the first two days, which will take place without Clark, the Buckeyes or the Hoosiers.
109,000 fans are expected to descend upon the Target Center from March 6-10.
- Wednesday, March 6
- Thursday, March 7
- Friday, March 8
- Saturday, March 9
- Game 11: Game 7 Winner vs. Game 8 Winner
- Game 12: Game 9 Winner vs. Game 10 Winner
- Sunday, March 10
- Championship Game
The Big Ten Tournament is still 14 days away. Standings are not final and there are a few big games left to be played, like Iowa vs. Indiana on Thursday night.
However, as things currently stand, all top-15 programs are all-but locked into a top-three seed. The middle of the pack has yet to be determined.
- Ohio State — 13-1
- Iowa — 12-2
- Indiana — 12-3
- Nebraska — 10-6
- Michigan State — 8-6
- Maryland — 7-7
- Penn State — 7-8
- Michigan — 7-8
- Illinois — 7-8
- Minnesota — 5-10
- Purdue — 4-10
- Northwestern — 3-12
- Rutgers — 2-13
Regardless of how things shake out, it is going to be a packed house in Minneapolis! Women’s college basketball continues to grow in popularity and Caitlin Clark is a big part of the growth.
