Jake Bates of the Michigan Panthers continues to approach (and shatter) UFL records with ease. The kicker added another 60-yard make to his list on Sunday in a win over the Arlington Renegades.
Bates also drilled the game-winner as his incredible season continues to roll on.
The special teamer is no stranger to launching lengthy kicks through the uprights. On the year, he’s now tallied three makes over 60+ yards while going an incredible 5-of-7 from 50 yards and beyond.
His latest came in Detroit this weekend.

That absolute missile off the leg immediately caught the attention of the NFL world. Most had the same thought – “That would’ve been good from 70!”
Jake Bates just kicked another 60yd boot (that would’ve been good from 70) like it was a chip shot. @packers do the smart thing.

Fans are begging their favorite pro teams to sign him, with the Lions being the most popular pick given he’s currently playing his home games in Ford Field.
But Bates wasn’t done!
That 60-yarder was one of five made field goals on the night, including the game-winner. The kicker booted a 42-yarder as time expired to deny the Renegades of their first victory on the year.

Jake Bates never attempted a FG in college!
While he did suit up for both Texas State and Arkansas at the NCAA level, he never tried a field goal. Instead, he was used mostly on the kickoff team.
I’m sure those teams might’ve reconsidered given the kicker’s success in the UFL! Neither would’ve guessed he’d go onto become the league’s record holder for longest make just a few years later.
Jake Bates, a kickoff specialist, hadn’t attempted a field goal since high school.
He just hit a game-winning 64-YARD field goal for the Panthers…

That 64-yard make from late March even
With the exposure gained in the spring, he’ll more than likely get a look before the NFL season begins.
Jake Bates previously suited up for the Texans in 2023, but he was waived prior to season’s start. He should get a more serious look this time around.
