Shortly after Ezekiel Elliott signed a contract with the New England Patriots, Dalvin Cook inks a one-year deal with the New York Jets.
It was a long NFL offseason, but the veteran running back finds a new home on a team with major playoff aspirations.
According to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, the Jets were the team Dalvin Cook wanted to play for all along.
He gets his wish and will be playing in a high powered offense led by Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson.Four-time Pro Bowler Dalvin Cook is signing with the #Jets on a one-year deal, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Additionally, Cook’s deal with New York is slightly larger than Elliott’s with the Patriots. Adam Schefter reports that Dalvin Cook will “sign a one-year deal worth up to $8.6 million with the New York Jets.”

Considering Breece Hall’s injury status is still up in the air, it makes sense why New York wanted to bring in someone like Cook.
The Jets suddenly find themselves with a loaded running back room too. Not only are Cook and Hall certified studs, but teammates Michael Carter and Zonovan Knight proved to be capable runners too.
New York certainly does not lack weapons, which is great news for this franchise. They play in a competitive AFC East division. So why not bring in Dalvin Cook to help with the playoff push?
With that said, signing Cook is an all-in kind of move for this franchise. It was evident the front office would be aggressive considering they traded for future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
We’ll see how the season plays out for New York, but with Dalvin Cook on the roster, this is certainly a team to watch.
