Longtime ESPN NFL reporter Chris Mortensen has passed away at age of 72 after battling throat cancer for the past 8 years.
On Sunday, ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro released a statement mourning the loss of Mortensen, who worked at the company for over 30 years.
“Mort was widely respected as an industry pioneer and universally beloved as a supportive, hard-working teammate.
