Retired NBA champion Kendrick Perkins was back in Boston on Tuesday to take in a Red Sox game against the Atlanta Braves. Prior to first pitch, he had the opportunity to participate in a batting practice session in Fenway Park.
It went just you imagined it would!
The former Boston Celtic whiffed time and time again as he hunched over with his 6-10 frame.Perk was confident before stepping into the box, setting his sights on that Green Monster out in left field.

He missed that mark by a long shot!
Home runs weren’t on the radar as Perkins began to take cuts. Instead, he struggled to make even the slightest bit of contact.

Baseball has a way of making the world’s most talented athletes look the least bit coordinated. Soccer star Neymar failed miserably in a 2016 batting cage session in New York, swinging and missing on every occasion, while No. 1 NFL Draft pick Caleb Williams had a hard time hitting the ball off the tee in Chicago.
It can be a humbling sport!
Kendrick Perkins struggled, but in his defense, it’s got to be hard to reach those pitches down in the zone when you stand nearly seven feet tall. He seemed satisfied with his effort.
“I did alright, hit a couple of singles,” he quipped after the session.
Despite the poor BP round, Perk felt right at home in his return to Beantown. The former Celtic is in the city to cover the upcoming NBA Finals, where the C’s look to land their first championship since 2008 when Perkins was still on the roster.

The Celtics will take on the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday in TD Garden.
