Aaron Rodgers’ journey with Ayahuasca has sparked interest from athletes across different leagues
On Wednesday, Rodgers was a guest speaker at the Psychedelic Science 2023 conference in Denver, Colorado.
During his speech, he revealed that basketball players, baseball players, and other NFL players have reached out to him about using Ayahuasca.
“The cool thing. When I first did I in 2020, I remember thinking afterwards, like, I’m happy to talk about this at some point. Are people ready? How will he received? Then I wom MVP and then I did it again. I said, okay, I can probably talk about it now. But the cool thing has been the response, not from the media that calls me a druggie or a hippie or whatever. “it’s been the response from other people in the sports industry has been pretty incredible to see.
“Basketball players and baseball players and surfers and entertainers and my own teammates and colleagues across the league reached out and either share their story about their own medicine journey or ask to be a part of an upcoming one was pretty special.”
Rodgers went on to say that hundreds of NFL players have contacted him about Ayahuasca.
“The cool thing is when you’re able to sit in ceremony with anybody, it changes your relationship with them,.. “I’ve been fortunate enough to sit in ceremony with teammates and I’m telling you, it is radically life-changing. And it’s wild to be in a locker room and look over and know, like, I’ve been in the ‘maloca’ with you, man. It’s pretty special. It changes the dynamic for sure.
“In this process, there’s been hundreds of NFL guys that have reached out – text or whatever the young guys do these days, DMs and different (stuff) — but it’s been really fun to connect with these guys who have done medicine work or are fascinated by it and want to learn more about it. I’m really, really thankful for those opportunities.”
