The New York Jets seem like they’re going to be the latest NFL team to get fresh throwback uniforms, as a photo of what appears to be tight end C.J. Uzomah wearing a white jersey from the New York Sack Exchange era has leaked online.
If the leak is what Jets fans think and hope it is, it’ll certainly be a much-needed change for a fan base that hasn’t seen their team look good on the field in a quarter-century.

As a Jets fan myself (yes, I know — go ahead and have your laugh now so we can move on), the decision to revert back to their “Winged-J” logo and Kelly Green primary color — which they haven’t worn since the 1997 season — has felt like an obvious choice for some time, and most other Gang Green fans seem to agree.

There were also some jokes about the Jets trying to find who leaked the video that appears to premeptively unveil the team’s new throwback uniforms before they were officially ready to announce them (which will apparently happen this upcoming week).

While the Jets spent the 2000s and 2010 with one of the ugliest looks in the league, it’s only gotten since they introduced new uniforms back in 2019, with the general opinion of them seeming to be that they look like college jerseys fit for a school in the MAC or Sun Belt conference.
At this time, if the Jets do introduce new throwback uniforms, it’s unclear how many times this season they’ll wear them. Given that the franchise will have six primetime games this season — surely their most in years — it seems likely the Sack Exchange jerseys will make an appearance in one or two of those games.
One of those primetime games is the Jets’ first of the season as they’ll be taking on the Buffalo Bills in Monday Night Football matchup on September 11, which, of course, will also be Aaron Rodgers’ debut with the team.
