Did Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter provide inside information to fix the outcomes of prop bets on NBA games that he played in?
That’s what the NBA is looking into after opening an investigation on Monday that centers on prop bet irregularities surrounding the reserve player.
Now it appears that Porter, who signed a two-way contract with Toronto in December, also operated a private Discord server that gave both stock trading information as well as betting tips.
jontay has a discord where he tells people what to trade and bet on. i have to pay $49.99 to see the premium room, but in the main room they are discussing things the NBA and jontay, and ppl are thanking jontay for their winnings. this is wild, wild stuff pic.twitter.com/CnGDE4zx9p

Twitter user @RaptorMoments shared old posts the public part of the server where users repeatedly thanked a group member (allegedly Porter) for helping them with stock and betting tips.
Though, the posts all came from before Porter was a player in the NBA. The Discord also contained private channel that was only available to users who paid a $49.99 entry fee.
Jontay Porter Ran Secret Discord That Offered Financial Advice
The Discord server is connected with a service called The Financial Cloud.
The program, which lists Porter as a co-founder, describes itself as an entity that exists “to help members pursue Financial Freedom Through Trading by designing a system that makes trading easier, faster, and more accurate, so members can spend more time doing what they love.”
It provides users with educational classes, “trade ideas” and community chats about trading.
Nowhere on the site does The Financial Cloud discuss gambling. But it appears that gambling was discussed often in the discord, with Porter even directly alluding to an NCAA Tournament parlay.

Neither the Raptors nor Porter have issued a statement since the investigation was announced.
The 24-year-old averages 4.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists for Toronto this season. He’s appeared in a total of 26 games, making five stars over that time period.
His older brother, Michael, is a star player for the reigning champion Denver Nuggets.
