We’re beginning to find out more about Jontay Porter’s gambling habits that got him permanently banned from the league.
Last month, the NBA announced they were opening an investigation into Porter after sports books flagged several large wagers being made on Porter prop bets in games in which he left early with injuries.
Eventually, the NBA concluded that Porter had “given confidential information to sports bettors, limiting his own participation in one or more games for betting purposes, and betting on NBA games,” which resulted in a lifetime ban.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Porter gambled on several games, and even bet on his own team to lose.
Per NBA: In addition, from January through March 2024, while traveling with the Raptors or Raptors 905, the Raptors’ NBA G League affiliate, Porter placed at least 13 bets on NBA games using an associate’s online betting account. These bets ranged in size from $15 to $22,000,…

Unofrtunately for Porter, the Raptors won their game and he lost his bet.
