There’s A Staggering Divide Between The Average Price Of Beer At NBA Arenas

Plenty of NBA fans will treat themselves to a beer or three (or five) while attending a game in person, but you’ll usually have to pay a premium if you want to get your drink on. However, there are some arenas that are charging some pretty staggering prices for the 2023-24 season—as well as a few that feature some downright bargains.

You’re usually not doing your wallet any favors when you decide to make the trek to an NBA game. If you want good seats, a ticket will usually set you back at least $100, and there are plenty of potential expenses thanks to the price of parking, food, and (of course) beer.

There’s obviously no one forcing you to shell out your hard-earned money on adult beverages, but I find it hard to resist the urge to hit up a concession stand or track down a vendor for a cold one once I’ve made my way into the game.

With that said, based on some numbers Bookies.com compiled ahead of the upcoming campaign, I might think twice at certain venues.

According to VinePair, there’s a pretty sharp divide between the NBA teams who are charging the most for a 16-ounce beer and those that fall on the other end of the spectrum. Based on the average price for that particular amount, these franchises comprise the five most expensive:

  1. Boston Celtics: $19.87
  2. Golden State Warriors: $19.01
  3. Denver Nuggets: $16.93
  4. New York Knicks: $15.75
  5. Brooklyn Nets: $15.13

If you’re looking for a comparative steal, attending a game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is your best bet, but there are a few other arenas featuring relatively cheap beer that doesn’t require you to break the bank:

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers: $5.87
  2. Oklahoma City Thunder: $6.69
  3. Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks: $7.39
  4. Indiana Pacers: $7.92
  5. San Antonio Spurs: $8.80

Props to the Cavs for giving the people what they deserve.
