If you bros caught my interview on Monday with Andrew Zimmern, host of Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel, then you know already that I was down in South Beach last weekend covering the Amstel Light Burger Bash. The Amstel Light Burger Bash is the premiere event of the annual South Beach Wine & Food Festival, it’s the beef-fueled event that attracts the biggest named celebrity chefs and it’s the event that brings out the best in food.
I’m not talking about burgers that are delicious simply because they were cooked to the perfect temperature, because these were the creme de la creme of burger chefs slanging beef at the Amstel Light Burger Bash. When you’ve got ‘Iron Chefs’ competing against one another it takes a whole lot more than a decent seasoning to set your burger apart. So I figured I’d pull together the best photos from the event for you bros, because I’ve now eaten a burger every day since last Friday (truly, I have), and I want you bros to share in that joy with me.
First up though, let’s take a look at Iron Chef Morimoto’s ‘Menchi Katsu Burger’ a panko fried burger with special sauce served on a potato roll, the burger that won the highly coveted Amstel Light People’s Choice Award. Essentially every person who was at the event received one chip, and with that one chip you were supposed to cast a vote for the best burger in the house. Iron Chef Morimoto picked up the most votes (his burger was in fact my favorite), and therefore he was named ‘The People’s Champ’ by Amstel Light…Now for the pics:
