After announcing a February 13 release date just weeks ago, Netflix has dropped the first full trailer for the second season of Narcos: Mexico.
Here’s the official synopsis for the second season of Narcos: Mexico:
Season 2 of Narcos: Mexico continues chronicling the missteps, ill-conceived agendas, and corruption on both sides of the border that have lead to a dangerous present in the failed war on drugs.
It’s the mid-1980s, as Félix Gallardo’s super cartel splinters under its own dark weight and social and political shifts within Mexico prompt its desperate government’s most brazen corruption. Meanwhile, the American effort to exact revenge for Kiki Camerana’s execution leads them further away from any hope for justice. The cycle of violence rages on.Set to be released on Thursday, February 13, Narcos: Mexico sees series lead Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) return as Guadalajara Cartel founder Félix Gallardo.
In addition to Luna, season two of Narcos: Mexico is set to see Scoot McNairy star as DEA agent Walt Breslin. While McNairy narrated the entire first season of Narcos: Mexico, his character was not revealed until the closing cliff-hanging moments of the first season.
I find Narcos: Mexico to be, pound-for-pound, arguably one of Netflix’s best original series thus far (all three seasons have been of the highest order), so if you’ve never seen the show, I’d definitely suggest binge-watching the first three relatively easily consumable seasons before the new season drops.
