The Washington Nationals 2019 World Series rings not only feature over 170 diamonds, they also feature a spelling error.
Every year championship rings one-up the previous years. Each championship-winning team tries to one-up the winning teams of the past and add more bling to their rings. The Nationals followed suit, but didn’t bother checking their grammar.
The Nationals’ team motto during the 2019 season was ‘go 1-0 everyday.’ ‘Everyday’ written as a single word is an adjective, but in this case every day is a noun, so it should be two words, ‘every day.’ You truly do learn something new every day, because I’m positive we’ve all made this spelling error before.
The spelling error isn’t the most noticeable thing on the ring thanks to 170 diamonds, 55 rubies and 32 sapphires, but hey, it’s there.
Spelling errors happen, they happen a lot, but when you think about the number of people that had to approve these rings it’s pretty shocking that nobody took notice of the error. From Washington’s front office to the manufacturer itself and likely plenty of other people, you would imagine that someone may have double-checked how to properly spell ‘every day.’
