Humans have been around for about 200,000 years, but it only took the Chicago Cubs 146 years to develop a following that is so passionate that they would have one of the largest spectacles of all-time. There were an estimated five million in attendance at the World Series parade for the Cubs on Friday afternoon.
FIVE FUCKING MILLION!!!

That’s remarkably impressive because Chicago’s population is only 2.7 million.
To put it in perspective, the Kansas City Royals World Series drew about 800,000 people.

Cubs fans from all over the world came to Chicago to celebrate the franchise’s first World Series win since 1908. The five million people makes the Cubs rally the seventh largest gathering in human history.
Here are the largest human gatherings in history:
Really? A Rod Stewart concert? Brazil, you disappoint me.
The Cubs rally was the largest event ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere.
The Cubs rally was the largest ever non-religious event in history.
Technically, that means country singer Brett Eldredge now holds the record for largest concert of all-time.

The real MVP was this Jimmy John’s delivery guy fighting through the crowds to bring food to a hungry Cubs fan.
