Formula 1 World In Shock After Lewis Hamilton’s Bombshell Move To Ferrari

The Formula 1 had an absolute bombshell dropped on it in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

Sky Sports revealed that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is set to leave Mercedes after 12 seasons following the 2024 season.

What’s more is that Hamilton, 39, is set to join the legendary Scuderia Ferrari team and join forces with rising star Charles Leclerc.

On paper, Hamilton is indisputably the greatest driver to ever grace the grid. He’s won a record 103 races and sat on pole a record 104 times. He’s also tied with legendary German driver Michael Schumacher for most drivers championships with seven.

Ironically, Schumacher won five of his seven championships with Ferrari before finishing his career with Mercedes.

The massive news comes just days after Ferrari announced a long-term contract extension with Leclerc. That announcement left the future of current Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz up in the air.

“Obviously I want to renew and I’d like to renew for more than one year, not just two,” the 29-year-old Spaniard said of his desire to secure a long-term deal with the tea. “I feel perfectly valued by Fred and by the whole Ferrari family in general, I feel loved.

“Therefore, I will renew if I feel that way and I feel that I am valued. I am convinced that if we both want to, we will reach an agreement on a duration that I am happy with.”

Now it appears that Ferrari has opted to go in a different direction. And what a direction it is. Formula 1 fans were absolutely stunned when they heard the news.

The move marks the culmination of a lengthy pursuit of Hamilton for Ferrari.
