Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. He will be the topic of much discussion over the next two months.
That discussion is only going to heat up after Chop Robinson put on a show at the NFL Combine.
That was to be expected, as he has been featured on Bruce Feldman’s Freaks List multiple times for his incredible athletic exploits.
But that point was really hammered home today, especially in the 40-yard-dash.Robinson ran an impressive 4.49 in his only attempt at the iconic attempt. That’s very fast, but it was his burst that was impressive, and set a record.
Robinson measured in at just under 6-foot-3 and 254lbs. And, no one at his size has ever got off the line quicker at the NFL combine than Chop Robinson did today.

1.54 10-yard split for Chop Robinson.
Fastest ever for a EDGE over 250 pounds.

That’s remarkably fast for someone of his size. And, he showed flashes of that during his college career. Robinson spent one season at Maryland before transferring to Happy Valley.
For his career, he had 60 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 11.5 sacks. That’s pretty good, but you’d expect more with someone of his athleticism and technique.
There were definitely times when Robinson took plays off. But, there were also games where he was unblockable. Michigan flat-out could not block him early in their game in November on passing downs.
Most have Chop Robinson projected as a first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, but in the latter half. But, he could climb into the top-half with his excellent combine performance today.
