Andrei Vasilevskiy Loses It After Ripping A Loud Fart During Postgame Interview

Interviews with hockey players are usually pretty boring and straightforward affairs, as guys in the NHL are known for giving cliché answers and rarely putting their personality on display. However, we were treated to a notable exception courtesy of Andrei Vasilevskiy and a fart that interrupted a post-game press huddle.

On Monday, the Tampa Bay Lightning faced off against the Dallas Stars and walked away with a 4-0 victory on home ice with some help from Vasilevskiy, who stopped all 25 shots he faced to secure his first shutout of the season and help his team snap a four-game losing streak.

Following the contest, the goaltender (who had been shaking off some of the rust after undergoing back surgery in the offseason that kept him sidelined until November 24th) chatted with reporters in the locker room while recapping his performance during what seemed like it was going to be a pretty run-of-the-mill hockey interview.

However, things took a very amusing turn when Vasilevskiy fielded a question about how it felt to get a little bit of revenge after he was pulled at the end of the second period on Saturday in a game where he surrendered six goals in an 8-1 loss to Dallas, as he was midway through his response when it was interrupted by the audible fart he ripped.

The netminder didn’t even attempt to cover up the fact that he passed gas, and it took him more than a few seconds to regain his composure before collecting himself and continuing his response (the moment in question unfolds at the 1:08 mark in the video below).

As an NHL fan who’s sat through countless interviews featuring players trotting out the most tired answers possible, I’d like to thank Vasilevskiy for breaking up the monotony while reminding us of one of the most universal truths there is: farts are always funny.
