Broncos Are Trading Or Cutting Pass-Rusher Frank Clark

The Broncos are saying goodbye to pass-rusher Frank Clark, as reported by ESPN’s Field Yates. The plan is to either trade him or let him go.

NFL Insider Mike Garafolo shares that Clark agreed to slash his $3.5 million salary. The new deal drops his base pay down to the minimum at $841k.

As part of this restructure, Clark is giving up a chunk of $1.

679 million in base pay. This kind of agreement usually happens when players and teams are heading for a separation.

Unfortunately, Clark won’t be suiting up for tonight’s game against the Chiefs due to an “illness”.

The pay cut makes him more attractive on the trading block, and that’s what Yates suggests will happen – either a trade or a release.

The team already traded pass-rusher Randy Gregory to the 49ers last week.

Clark, a 2nd round pick in the 2015 Draft by the Seahawks, has racked up 58.5 career sacks. He made his way to the Chiefs in 2019, traded for a 1st round pick, and became a strong performer in the playoffs, winning two Super Bowls during his time there.

Clark joined the Broncos this offseason as a free agent but only managed to play in 2 games, with just 36 snaps on defense. It seems things haven’t panned out as hoped, and his time with the Broncos is coming to an end.
